Name: Richie Reeder
Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA
Academic Program: MDiv
My family: My wife Regan
My church: Monroeville Community Church
My ministry: Currently I’m a glorified intern!! My title of “Ministry Associate” encompasses directing our Children’s and Sports Outreach Ministries, Leading corporate worship during our Sunday service, and assisting our Lead Pastor as appropriate.
One word that describes me: Passionate
In my spare time: I’m a sports enthusiast! For me this includes: watching ESPN, enjoying trips to State College, taking in games at PNC Park, cheering on my Phillies, Nittany Lions, and Steelers, playing golf, and lifting weights!
Favorite Bible verse: 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 — “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
Spiritual hero: The Apostle Paul
Vision: My vision is to see the entire culture of Pittsburgh shaped for Jesus Christ by using the local church as a platform for God-centered worship, passionate preaching, authentic personal relationships, and effective sports ministry!
Why I applied to Rockbridge Seminary: I applied to RBS because I knew God was calling me to enter seminary, but was not calling me away from my current ministry setting in Pittsburgh. I needed a seminary that would challenge me in practical and biblical ways and also be available to show up at my front door. Hello Rockbridge!
What I like about Rockbridge Seminary: I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of Rockbridge Seminary classes. My initial doubt that online seminary was a “watered-down” version of traditional seminary was done away with in the first week of my first class! I love RBS because it’s SO applicable and it brings a challenge!
