Meet Rockbridge Seminary Student Steve Buck

My ministry: I am one of the Worship Leaders.I have lead worship for over 20 years all at FCC.

In my spare time: I love to spent time with Carol and our two boys, and daughter in-laws and of course the grandchildren. I love to hunt with my boys and golf with my friends.
Favorite Bible verse: Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV) 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Spiritual hero: My Grandfather
Vision: I’m looking to retire from my day job in about 4 years, and I want to be in a position to be able to be used by the Lord in full-time ministry. Specifically, I am asking the Lord to use me to proclaim His Word. I want to be a preacher.
Why I applied to Rockbridge Seminary: I went to my pastor one day and told him he needed to talk me out of quitting my job. I told him that I have always felt like I missed Gods call on my life and told him I wanted to go to Bible College and then into “the Ministry.” He told me (in so many words) that I was right where God wanted me to be and that I was in “the Ministry” leading worship at our church; plus being a light in darkness in the work place. Then he told me that I could still go to seminary without quitting my job. We went to the Rockbridge website, and the rest as they say is history.
What I like most about Rockbridge Seminary: Rockbridge has a cutting edge mentality. The material we study is second to none, and the professors thatshepherd us are handpicked by God. The authors of our textbooks are from a list of who’s who in the Christian community. My next door neighbor knows Gilbert Bilezikian (Community 101) personally. When I tell people that I am in seminary, they want to know what Rockbridge stands for. Without any hesitation, I can say that they stand for Almighty God.
