Meet Rockbridge Student Diane O’Connor

Name: Diane O’Connor
Hometown: Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Academic Program: Master of Ministry Leadership
My family: My husband, Bob is a dentist and we have four grown children and eight grandchildren!
My church: Christian Life Fellowship, Port Edwards, Wisconsin www.clfonline.org
My ministry: I serve part-time at Christian Life Fellowship, serving as Director of Ministry Development. I’m also a coach and instructor through Life Purpose Coaching Centers, International. My ministry – wherever I am – is to use my passion for design to encourage and strengthen leaders by coaching them to discover who God designed them to BE and what He’s calling them to DO. (www.oconnorcoaching.com)
One word that describes me: Coach
In my spare time: I read, bike, shop, and design everything from paintings to gardens to rooms to promo pieces.
Favorite Bible verse: “It’s in Christ we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Him and got our hopes up, He had His eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose He is working out in everything and everyone.” Ephesians 1:11 &12, The Message.
Spiritual hero: Esther
Vision: My vision is to encourage, equip and empower leaders through coaching, consulting, writing, teaching, promoting or casting vision. I help them understand God’s strategic design for their own lives, as well as for the team they lead. I share ideas using wisdom, motivation and inspiration. I facilitate teams of leaders to imagine, brainstorm, plan, create, develop or organize, helping them to achieve excellence, unity and focus. I encourage and equip them to create a coaching leadership culture. I also delight in offering my design skills to help them create vibrant ministry tools or promotional materials, as needed.
I continue to enlarge my sphere of influence as I reach out beyond our community to strengthen leaders and emerging leaders in other churches and ministries throughout the US and beyond. I do this through creating innovative coaching tools, through writing, through coaching them in person and over the phone, and through presenting workshops, seminars and web-inars throughout the US and beyond.
Why I applied to Rockbridge Seminary: I applied to Rockbridge to sharpen my leadership skills and to begin to fulfill a long-held dream of completing a Masters Degree and Doctorate.
What I like most about Rockbridge Seminary: I love the challenge and interaction of online learning. I also love the coaching we are given by our instructors to stretch and grow us. It’s fabulous to be able to immediately put into practice all that I am learning right in my local church and community. I absolutely love Rockbridge!
