I’m also counting on one side-effect of this course being that I’ll get a better handle on working completely self-paced and on my own schedule, but with a sense of urgency, purpose, and desire to be efficient with the time I have. I like the tension that Rockbridge provides between a well-defined schedule (course work must be completed within a fixed time frame and interaction must offer both quality and quantity) and a loose structure that allows me the freedom to work when I’m inspired or when I’m in the mood. I think ministry offers the same tension – it is impossible to completely schedule every part of your work-week because “ministry happens.” Read all of “A glimpse into seminary”
