My ministry: I am a dentist full-time and missions pastor of my church. I consider my dental practice a ministry and God has blessed it tremendously to be able to share Him with patients and my staff. As missions pastor, my vision is to get believers to see that we are missionaries everyday. You don’t have to go on a “mission trip” to do mission work. I tell everyone that your mission trip begins the moment you walk out the church door!
One word that describes me: Impossible!
In my spare time: I love the outdoors. I enjoy hunting (I’m not very good but being outdoors makes it worthwhile). I love to hunt Turkey, Deer, Quail and as my son gets older we do a lot of that together. I also love spending any time I can with my family. We love just being together and a lot that is done by serving together in the church. I love reading history books…especially American history. I’m a patriot!
Favorite Bible verse: Philippians 3:13 (TLB) ”No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead…”
Spiritual hero: The Apostle Paul
Vision: My vision, my calling, is to help churches to be healthy. I’ve seen the damage that churches can do to non-believers as well to those in the church, and my vision is to teach church health principles. That is one of the reasons that the Apostle Paul is my spiritual hero…he had that same passion.
Why I applied to Rockbridge Seminary: I have a full-time dental practice as well as my pastoral position in the church. There is no way that I would be able to leave that to attend a traditional seminary campus. Rockbridge afforded me the opportunity to pursue my seminary degree, without having to put my life on hold for the next couple of years.
What I like most about Rockbridge Seminary: I love the wonderful interaction with the professors and my classmates. The learning is hands-on and practical and I’m able to apply everything I learn immediately. I am growing personally as well as my ministry thanks to all I’ve learned so far in Rockbridge.
